Salome

c.14-c.62 AD

Salome was the step-daughter of King Herod Antipas of Judea. At his birthday banquet, she danced for him and his friends. This pleased the king so much that he promised to give her anything she asked for. She requested that the head of John the Baptist, a troublemaking holy man who had insulted her mother, be detached and brought to her on a platter.

She later married her uncle Philip the Tetrarch, who was 39 years older than she was. After he died she married her cousin Aristobulus of Chalcis, thus becoming queen of Armenia Minor.

There is a lot to unpack there, but suffice it to say that was one seriously fucked-up familty.
